I hate being that person who complains about being on vacation and having nothing to do, but here we are. It's one of those the grass is always greener on the other side situations. During the semester, we hate work, we want to do nothing and just shop all day(just me?). The semester ended, I came home, and found I have nothing to do. Maybe it's because I don't have a car and my parents work, or maybe I turn into a lazy couch potato, but I'm bored. We can call it relaxed instead. Why I complain about watching TV and eating food all day, I will never know. It's very common for a college kid to basically give up on life once the semester ends. We work hard, and now our brain needs a vacation (mine sprinted to the Bahamas). Yet there is something to be said about being busy. The thrill of having a to do list and procrastinating until the last minute and you freak out because you have one day to do all your work. Rushing from class, grabbing lunch, and having no time to watch your favorite shows(I really love TV). I miss procrastination. I find myself procrastinating random things like watching movies. So for those of you who freak out when you don't have anything to put off, this post is for you.
Tips for finding things to do when you have rare free time on vacation and you have gone stir crazy:
1. Take a walk. Actually walk towards the fresh air and be a real person.
2. Exercise. Do some jumping jacks. Jump off your bed and move your body. Blast your favorite pop song while the house is empty(no one will stare at you unless you have a pet).
3. Cook. Spend hours on an elaborate meal for your family. You can improve your skills and your parents will thank you.
4. Shop. My go-to-probably-terrible-for-my-bank-account activity when I'm bored. It's fun, you get a momentary feeling of happiness, and if you have the money, don't have to feel bad about it.
5. Arts and crafts. This is not just for children. Make a collage. Make a gift for your friends. Paint. It doesn't have to be good, just try and maybe you can be the next Picasso.
6. Watch a movie. There are tons of movies out there, so try and watch every single one. Not really. Unless you're me, then you love wasting hours in front of the TV(I mean computer).
7. Start a blog, tumblr, pinterest, instargram, and go on facebook. Spend your time on social media websites stalking strangers and acquaintances and compare their life to yours.
Last, but not least, read blogs! Especially ours, please spend your leisurely or not so leisurely time enjoying our wonderful posts. We thank you in advance. I will admit I read way too many blogs. See, just writing this post gave me something to do on this cold pre-new year's Sunday.
Stay stylish people!

Kitchen 101
Having a kitchen of my own has been a dream of mine, but to cook you need appliances. I'm moving to an on campus apartment from a dorm which means starting from scratch. This is the beginning of my real world need to combine practical items with style, in a very very affordable way. Since I love cooking, I want my tools to be stylish, and since I love cupcakes, why not combine the two? So far I have an adorable cupcake oven mitt, cupcake pan, and a small saute pan. There are so many extra things I would buy like a cupcake shaped muffin pan, but i'm really trying to focus on the basics and essentials. Here are some tips for the basics every kitchen needs.
1. Saute pan for cooking absolutely anything
2. Pasta pot, because pasta is a simple go-to dish for when you're too busy to make dinner
3. Muffin pan for the nights when you just need dessert.
4. Oven mits
5. Measuring cups
6. Utensils: spatula, cooking spoon, can opener
Keep posted for more on my kitchen adventures including how to stock an empty kitchen, and quick dishes for the weekday!

1 Item 2 Ways
I love finding new ways to wear a simple item like the t-shirt dress. Dress it up or dress it down it can be used for any occasion. The first look is a little dressier. Hot pink heels, sparkly bow belt and beautiful burgundy jacket make this simple grey dress nighttime worthy. The second outfit has some edge, but is casual enough for daytime. I love love love black boots, and lately I'm loving ones that are mid length or ankle. A leopard belt is the perfect way to add interest without being flashy. Add some cute studs and a killer statement bag and you are good to go.

Hope you all are having a wonderful week! Classes are ending so Julia and I will be in a very good mood very very soon!!
